High Sea Wind
Description
The licence activity for this management plan relates to the temporary installation (via tethering to the seabed) of a floating LiDAR buoy within Feasibility Licence FL-002 for the purpose of assessing the feasibility of exploiting a renewable energy resource, i.e. wind. The installation, maintenance and retrieval of the LiDAR buoy and associated mooring (tethering) equipment is to be conducted from a vessel. The vessel will be on location temporarily and at no point will be moored on location.
The deployment of the floating LiDAR system is scheduled for Q4 2025. The deployment will take a single day assuming fair weather conditions. The buoy is likely to be left in place for 12 to 14 months, after which all equipment will be removed.
