Learn more about the OEI Act framework

The Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR) is continuing to increase our engagement with industry and other interested parties to build understanding of the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act 2021 (OEI Act) framework.

In line with our functions, the OIR is pleased to hold an online webinar on the OEI Act framework on Thursday 10 October 2024 from 11am-12.30pm AWST.

This session is designed to build understanding of the OEI Act regime and provide participants with an opportunity to seek clarifications regarding the OIR’s future administration of the framework. 

The OIR’s Chief Executive Officer Sue McCarrey will introduce the webinar, followed by a 45-minute presentation and 45-minute Q&A session.  

Topics covered will include:

• an overview of the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act framework
• design notification requirements
• management plans and financial securities
• safety and protection zones
• work health and safety
• environmental management regulation for offshore renewables.
